Restoring deleted files after emptying your recycle bin

The average computer owner and operator is unaware that when they place a file or folder in their Windows recycle bin that data is relabeled and changed. As long as you have not emptied your Windows recycle bin you may enter the bin and choose any file for restoration. But the moment you empty your Windows recycle bin the original file names for that data no longer exist. In their place are attached hash style file numbers that are in no way recognizable as to the original information.

When you use a data recovery tool to recover files from emptied recycle bin storage those files are thrown together with all of the other recently deleted files. Deleted files that are recovered which have not been in the Windows recycle bin will have their original file names in place making an extremely simple to locate a given type of file such as a digital image file or a Microsoft Word file. But unless you have a program specifically designed for recycle bin recovery that will at the very least group all of the files recovered from the recycle bin area for you, locating an individual file that has been emptied is almost impossible.
