As with all digital photo recovery based upon using a high end digital camera Canon file recovery depends upon successful scanning for and reconstruction of camera raw files. RAW files are special file types created by the camera manufacturer to temporarily store the digital image until said image is transferred and transformed by downloading it to a computer.

Each camera manufacturer has their own file types. Many of these manufactures have more than one.
